Track 3 - "No More Passive Voice"

To review for our first semester test in AP English Language and Composition, the entire class was divided up into groups and each group was assigned a different standard we covered over the semester. My group chose to do a project on the use of passive voice.

We created a movie that described what passive voice is, why it shouldn't be used, and the types of writings that are exceptions and passive voice may be used in.

This project effectively meets the following National Educational Technology Standards:

Students apply existing knowledge to generate new ideas, products, or processes.  (S.1) We used what we had learned at the beginning of the year to create a movie about passive voice.Students create original works as a means of personal or group expression.  (S.1) Our movie was 100% original.Students interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, experts, or others employing a variety of digital environments and media.  (S.2) Making a movie with fellow students requires a lot of interaction and collaboration...and patience. We published our work for viewing by our fellow students and also viewed their projects.Students contribute to project teams to produce original works or solve problems.  (S.2) Our team delegated responsibilities and roles to each member in order to meet our deadline.Students exhibit a positive attitude toward using safe, legal, and responsible use of information and technology.  (S.5) We had a lot of fun making a "study guide" of passive voice for the other students and used video cameras, computer generated special effects, and editing.
